Contributing gifts of cash provides unrestricted support for the day-to-day operations of Briar Bush.

 

As a non-profit organization, Briar Bush Nature Center relies on the generous annual support of individuals like you. Your tax-deductible donation supports all aspects of the nature center's daily operations including trails, exhibits, animal care, educational programming, and the staffing required to make it all happen.

 

Unrestricted gifts offer us the flexibility to direct funds where they are needed most and will have the biggest impact, giving our administrators the latitude to take advantage of unexpected opportunities and to act quickly. Unrestricted gifts can still be designated; that is, can be directed to a particular program or focus (ex: purchasing plants for the butterfly house or maintaining the nature playscape) and still be considered unrestricted.

A gift-in-kind is a non-monetary item such as equipment, software, or a product or service that a donor voluntarily transfers to the Friends without charge or consideration. We gladly accept these items to be used in our educational programs and to maintain the museum, animals, and grounds. Please see the list below for suggestions of needed items.

  • Capital Needs

  • Carpet cleaning services and/or new carpets for the education building

  • Tree gator bags (up to 10)

  • Motion sensing light switches

  • Snow plow (or snow blower) attachment and snow chains for ATV

  • Waders (chest or hip)

  • Gardening equipment (new or lightly used): hand pruners, loppers, work gloves, 5-gallon buckets

  • Museum/garden needs

  • T-square (for exhibits)

  • Metal dog/animal enclosure (8-12 foot square)
